
This event will help you to understand the DfE’s Writing Framework to ensure the curriculum and its delivery are effective.
The DfE published the writing Framework in July to ‘outline a common approach to teaching writing based on evidence and existing good practice.’
During this event, we will explore The Writing Framework and share ways that schools can ensure their curriculum and practices of the teaching of writing are effective.
This will include:
- automaticity of handwriting and spelling to free working memory
- mastering the fundamentals of writing
- building the foundations that support writing throughout primary school
- developing transcription skills through oral composition
- establishing a positive writing culture
- developing a well-sequenced curriculum
