Managing attendance in primary schools.
In their drive to improve school attendance, the DfE has released new regulations which are due to come into force in August 2024. Join us to find out what schools need to do to comply with these regulations.
“60% of all teachers say that parents and guardians could do more to support the school to reduce their child’s absenteeism.”
Engaging in absenteeism – Next Gen Thinking.
School leaders know how vital parental collaboration is in improving attendance rates. However, the barriers to attending school are not always clear. With attendance high on the government’s and Ofsted’s agendas, it is important that school leaders are managing attendance effectively, and can demonstrate this to inspectors.
During this event we will:
- share the DfE’s latest attendance guidance due to come into force in August 2024
- consider the legacy from COVID-19 regarding absence
- look at common barriers to attendance and how to overcome them
- share ways to use your attendance data effectively
- explain how to prepare attendance information for an inspection
- share top tips to combat pupils absence
If you are a senior leader, a parent support adviser/family support worker, or you play a role in improving attendance in your school, then this event is for you.
