The training module focuses on conducting an internal review of learner engagement within your own setting. The video outlines the scope of the review and introduces a seven‑step process for evaluating how effectively pupils are engaged in their learning. It highlights common poor proxies for learning and explains the importance of the three engagement dimensions. The module also introduces the ICAP learner engagement checklist, designed to help staff identify levels of learner engagement and provide constructive, targeted feedback.
This training module is useful for leaders and teachers who wish to understand and evaluate key aspects of learner engagement.
